Abstract The operational community has assumed that using a head-up display (HUD) instead of conventional head-down displays will increase accuracy and safety during approach and landing. The putative mechanism for this increase in safety is that previously demonstrated improvements in lateral and vertical control of the aircraft in flight should carry over to the landing situation. Alternatively, it is possible that, during approach and landing, the HUD might affect the pilot's ability to…

Ecological design of augmentation improves helicopter ship landing maneuvers: An approach in augmented virtuality

The results showed that the second augmentation, ecologically grounded, offers benefits at several levels of analysis and underlines the importance for designers of augmented reality systems to collaborate with psychologists to identify the relevant perceptual-motor strategy that must be encouraged before designing an augmentation that will enhance it.

Head-up Displays (HUD) in driving

A solution is a context aware multimodal proactive recommended system that features personalized content combined with the use of car sensors to determine when the information has to be presented.

Augmenting Landmarks During the Head-Up Provision of In-Vehicle Navigation Advice

There are significant benefits to augmenting landmarks during the head-up provision of in-car navigation advice, and this approach attracted the lowest subjective ratings of workload.

Awareness and Detection of Traffic and Obstacles Using Synthetic and Enhanced Vision Systems

A knowledge gap assessment was made with recommendations for ground and flight testing to fill these gaps and promote the safe and effective implementation of SVS/EVS technologies for the Next Generation Air Transportation System.

Enhanced vision for all-weather operations under NextGen

Recent research in Synthetic/Enhanced Vision technology is analyzed with respect to existing Category II/III performance and certification guidance. The goal is to start the development of

공대공 유도탄의 동적발사영역(DLZ) 산출 알고리듬

The operational aspects of DLZ algorithm for the air-to-air missiles to various engagement scenarios is investigated and real-time computation algorithm for DLZ based on the pseudo 6-DOF program is addressed.
