We review the attempt to construct massless gauge field theories in Minkowski spacetime that go under the name of HS-YM. We present their actions and their symmetries. We motivate their gravitational interpretation. In particular we show how to recover the local Lorentz invariance, which is absent in the original formulation of the theories. Then we propose a perturbative quantization in the so-called frozen momentum frame. We discuss physical and unphysical modes and show how to deal with them…

Supersymmetric HS Yang-Mills-like Models
We introduce the supersymmetric version of YM-like theories with infinitely many spin fields in four dimensions. The construction is carried out via the superfield method. The surprising feature of

Higher-Spin Gauge Theories and Bulk Locality.
TLDR
The result suggests that the Fronsdal program for introducing interactions among higher-spin gauge fields cannot be completed without introducing new guiding principles, which could potentially lie beyond the framework of classical field theory.
On four-point interactions in massless higher spin theory in flat space
A bstractWe consider a minimal interacting theory of a single tower of spin j = 0, 2, 4,… massless Fronsdal fields in flat space with local Lorentz-covariant cubic interaction vertices. We address
On the non-local obstruction to interacting higher spins in flat space
A bstractOwing to a renewed interest in flat space higher spin gauge theories, in this note we provide further details and clarifications on the results presented in arXiv:1107.5843 and arXiv:
On the relativistic theory of force-free particles with any spin
In the free case, it is possible to define quantum fields which describe particles with integer or half-integer spin larger than one. It is shown that particles with integer spin must have Bose
Light-Front Higher-Spin Theories in Flat Space
We revisit the problem of interactions of higher-spin fields in flat space. We argue that all no-go theorems can be avoided by the light-cone approach, which results in more interaction vertices as
How higher-spin gravity surpasses the spin-two barrier
Aiming at nonexperts, the key mechanisms of higher-spin extensions of ordinary gravities in four dimensions and higher are explained. An overview of various no-go theorems for low-energy scattering
Maxwell-like Lagrangians for higher spins
A bstractWe show how implementing invariance under divergence-free gauge transformations leads to a remarkably simple Lagrangian description of massless bosons of any spin. Our construction covers
