Human papillomavirus (HPV) is responsible for various diseases in the anogenital region which range from benign condylomata acuminata to anal carcinoma. Buschke-Loewenstein tumour is a clinically 'intermediate' condition which is histologically benign but due to extensive destruction of the local tissues can show malignant behaviour.
