SUMMARY The amounts of three flavonoids, quercetin, kaempferol, and myricetin, in tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum L.) and tomato-based products produced in Turkey has been determined by reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RPHPLC) with UV detection. The HPLC profiles of five types of tomato, one commercial composite tomato juice, and three types of tomato paste, were obtained after acid hydrolysis and extraction. The presence of the flavonol aglycons was confirmed by gas…

Extraction, Purification, and Determination by HPLC of Quercetin in Some Italian Wines

In this paper, we report a simple method for the determination of quercetin, a typical antioxidant compound ubiquitously present in vegetable food products including grapes and wine. To this aim, 12

Review of flavonoids and other phenolics from fruits of different tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) cultivars.

There is a rapidly growing interest in flavonoids and other phenolics in tomato fruits and products made thereof, particularly connected to the antioxidant properties of these compounds as well as other possible health effects.

Quality assessment and quantitative analysis of flavonoids from tea samples of different origins by HPLC-DAD-ESI-MS.

Optimize of extraction techniques clearly proved the performance of MAE, which delivered highest yields in a very short time, and the comparison with Aquasolv extraction provided new insights, as variations in quantified amounts of target compounds between the extracts could be explained on the basis of thermal degradation and epimerization phenomena.

Extraction, Isolation and Quantification of Bioactive Compound (Fisetin) and its Product Formulation

Flavonoids are the class of plant secondary metabolites. Flavonoids are widely distributed into plants, fruits and vegetables. Fisetin is a flavonol, belongs to flavonoid group of polyphenols.

High-Performance Liquid Chromatographic Method for the Simultaneous Determination of Four Flavonols in Food Supplements and Pharmaceutical Formulations

Abstract A method using high-performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection (HPLC-DAD) as a powerful separation technique has been developed for the simultaneous determination of the

Antioxidant potential of extracts from different agro wastes: Stabilization of corn oil

The antioxidant potential of 80% methanolic extracts of some agro wastes (pomegranate peel, apple peel, banana peel, citrus peel, corncob, wheat husk, wheat bran, rice bran, and rice hull) was

GC-MS ANALYSIS OF CALENDULA OFFICINALIS AND CYTOTOXIC EFFECTS OF ITS FLOWER CRUDE EXTRACT ON HUMAN EPIDERMOID LARYNX CARCINOMA (HEP-2).

Apparently, the methanolic extract of C. officinalis has anticancer activity on Hep-2 cell lines but it has a dose-dependent increase in the frequency of Chromosome Aberrations (CAs) and Sister Chromatides Exchanges (SCEs).

Optimized method for simultaneous determination of catechin, gallic acid, and methylxanthine compounds in chocolate using RP-HPLC

Abstract. The simultaneous determination of catechins, gallic acid, and three methylxanthine compounds was determined in chocolate extract by reversed-phase HPLC. An isocratic HPLC procedure using
