  • S-(+)-Glaucine (C 21 H 25 NO 4 ) is the main alkaloid component in the grass of yellow horn poppy (Glaucium luteum L., syn. Glaucium flavum Crantz )o f thePapaveraceae family, which are collected during the blooming period. This compound belongs to the group of aporphine alkaloids and is used in medicine as an antitussive agent.
