  • Ethanolic extract of Cratoxylon sumatranum (Paguringon) was evaluated for hepatoprotective property in rats. The plant extract (500mg/kg BW) showed a remarkable hepatoprotective property against paracetamol induced hepatotoxicity as judged from the serum markers for liver damage. Paracetamol induced a significant rise in aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT).
