A 12 channel analog memory dedicated to the readout of the Atlas liquid argon calorimeter has been developed. Its main function is to sample, at a 40MHz rate, the data coming from a three gain shaper, to store it, waiting for the level-1 trigger decision, and then to send it more slowly (5MHz) towards a 12 bit ADC. For each trigger, the ADC will digitize 5 samples. As the system is supposed to present minimum dead time, the write operations will be unceasing even during the read phases. The… CONTINUE READING
