Good agronomic practice is a key to a successful crop production aiming at high yield and quality in small or large scale planting. Gynura procumbens (Lour.) Merr. (Family Asteraceae) is a herbal plant rich in phytochemical compounds of wellbeing benefits to the consumers. Suitable and complete technology on agronomic practices such as cultivation technique, fertilization application, water requirement, weed control and pest and disease management of G. procumbens or locally known as Sambung…

Antibacterial Activity Tests of Staphylococcus aureus and Phytochemical Screening in Family Asteraceae, Clusiaceae, Phyllanthaceae

The results showed that all the plants have potential as antibacterials, and the mangosteen leaf extract has the largest Obstacle Area Width of 5.1 mm with a fairly strong inhibitory ability.

Chemical constituents and the inhibition of α-glucosidase of Gynura procumbens (Lour.) Merr

The test results showed that the parts of G. procumbens were active as α-glucosidase inhibitor, which would be useful to support the treatment for diabetes.
