  • J. P. Guilford has had an enormous influence on the psychology of creativity. In many ways, he is the father of modern creativity research. Yet his conception of creativity was, we suggest, flawed in certain respects. In this article, we discuss both the strengths and limitations of Guilford's approach to creativity.
