Determination of the bacterial flora as a microbial control agent of Toxoptera aurantii (Homoptera: Aphididae)
The results presented here show that Pseudomonas flourescens Cb3 appears to be a significant candidate as a possible biocontrol agent against T. aurantii and should be beneficial in the future biOControl programs of the pest.
Ergänzende Befunde über das Auf wandern Rickettsiosekranker Melolontha spp.‐Larven (Col.‐Lamellicornia: Melolonthidae)
It was stated during the observations 1954–1962 that Melolontha-larvae infected with Rickettsiella melolonthae (Krieg) Philip began to move upward early in October, and this continued with L1 until the beginning of November, with L2 until the first days of February, and with L3 until January.
Versuche mit insektenpathogenen Polyederviren und chemischen Stressoren zur Bekämpfung forstschädlicher Raupen1
Experiments with chemical stressors in the biological control of forest-damaging caterpillars with insect-pathogenic polyhedrosis viruses found compounds such as FeSO4 and CuSO4 to have a synergic effect and to increase the mortality of the larvae treated.
Influence of physical factors on the growth of insect cells in vitro
The influence of osmotic pressure on the growth rate of a cell line (IMC-HZ-1) from a moth, Heliothis zea, was studied and the relationship between the logarithm of the change in osmolality effected per cell and the initial osmalality of the medium was linear.
Effect of nuclear polyhedrosis virus inNeodiprion sertifer (Geoffr.) [Hymenoptera: Diprionidae] at different temperatures
It is concluded that both the LT50 and the length of the larval period are prolonged by low temperature, and nuclear polyhedrossis virus may be an effective control agent against N. sertifer in cool areas even if the LT 50 is relatively long.
Freilandversuch zur biologischen Bekämpfung des TannentriebwicklersChoristoneura murinana (Hübn.) mit Granuloseviren
An aerial experiment with Bergoldiavirus calyptum was done on the control of Choristoneura murinana, a pest of fir in the Black Forest (southern part of Western Germany).
Perspectives sur la classification des virus d'invertébrés
The current need is not to develop separately the classification of this group but to make a thorough study of the characteristics of each virus with the object of incorporating it into a general system to be adopted by the Moscow International Microbiological Congress.
Recherche d'antigènes de groupe chez des rickettsies de la tribu desWolbachiae par la technique d'agglutination des corps élémentaires
This comparison shows that the genus Rickettsiella does not form and homogeneous group from an immunological point of view.
