The feeding behaviour and growth performance ofred porgy subjected to restrictive self-feedingregimes (diurnal, nocturnal) were compared tothose of fish given free access to feed. Fishwere held at two densities (50 or 100 fish pertank) and studies were carried out at differentseasons (summer-autumn-winter-spring). The fishwere held in 500-l tanks under ambientconditions and were fed by means of electronicself-feeders, connected to a computer thatrecorded their activation.
