A nutritional trial on Robusta banana was carried out with six levels of nitrogen. Plant height and pseudostem girth were significantly increased by application of nitrogen. Flowering (shooting) was delayed considerably when no nitrogen was applied. Dry matter production was greatest in response to 150 and 300 g of nitrogen application per plant, which also resulted in maximum fruit yield.
