We present the results of applying a percolation algorithm to the initial release of the Two Micron All Sky Survey Extended Source Catalog, using subsequently measured redshifts for almost all of the galaxies with K < 11.25 mag. This group catalog is based on the first near-IR all-sky flux-limited survey that is complete to |b| = 5°. We explore the dependence of the clustering on the length and velocity scales involved. The paper describes a group catalog, complete to a limiting redshift of 104…
The Structure of 2MASS Galaxy Clusters
We use a sample of galaxies from the Two Micron All Sky Survey Extended Source Catalog to refine a matched filter method of finding galaxy clusters that takes into account each galaxy's position,
GALAXY GROUPS IN THE 2MASS REDSHIFT SURVEY
A galaxy group catalog is constructed from the 2MASS Redshift Survey (2MRS) with the use of a halo-based group finder. The halo mass associated with a group is estimated using a “GAP” method based on
THE 2MASS REDSHIFT SURVEY—DESCRIPTION AND DATA RELEASE
We present the results of the 2MASS Redshift Survey (2MRS), a ten-year project to map the full three-dimensional distribution of galaxies in the nearby universe. The Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS)
GALAXY GROUPS: A 2MASS CATALOG
A galaxy group catalog is built from the sample of the 2MASS Redshift Survey almost complete to Ks = 11.75 over 91% of the sky. Constraints in the construction of the groups were provided by scaling
Compact and Isolated Groups of Galaxies in the Local Universe
Summary. An algorithm that searches for groups of galaxies in redshift catalogues has been applied to data obtained from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey DR5, which includes over half a million galaxies.
Galaxy groups and haloes in the seventh data release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey
In this work we introduce a new method to perform the identification of groups of galaxies and present results of the identification of galaxy groups in the seventh data release of the Sloan Digital
Galaxy groups and clouds in the local (z∼ 0.01) Universe
We present an all-sky catalogue of 395 nearby galaxy groups revealed in the Local Supercluster and its surroundings. The groups and their associations are identified among 10 914 galaxies at |b| >
The 2MASS Redshift Survey in the Zone of Avoidance
The Two Micron All-Sky Survey (2MASS) Redshift Survey was started two decades ago with the goal of mapping the three-dimensional distribution of an all-sky flux-limited (Ks < 11.75 mag) sample of
THE RELATION BETWEEN MORPHOLOGY AND DYNAMICS OF POOR GROUPS OF GALAXIES
We investigate the relation between the projected morphology and the velocity dispersion of groups of galaxies using two recently compiled group catalogs, one based on the Two Micron All Sky Survey
IS THE TWO MICRON ALL SKY SURVEY CLUSTERING DIPOLE CONVERGENT
There is a long-standing controversy about the convergence of the dipole moment of the galaxy angular distribution (the so-called clustering dipole). Is the dipole convergent at all, and if so, what

Clusters of Galaxies in the Local Universe
We use a matched filter algorithm to find and study clusters in both N-body simulations artificially populated with galaxies and the Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS). In addition to numerous checks
Nearby Optical Galaxies: Selection of the Sample and Identification of Groups
In this paper we describe the Nearby Optical Galaxy (NOG) sample, which is a complete, distance-limited (cz ≤ 6000 km s-1) and magnitude-limited (B ≤ 14) sample of ~7000 optical galaxies. The sample
The Southern Sky Redshift Survey
We report redshifts, magnitudes, and morphological classifications for 5369 galaxies with mB ≤ 15.5 and for 57 galaxies fainter than this limit, in two regions covering a total of 1.70 sr in the
The DEEP2 Galaxy Redshift Survey: First Results on Galaxy Groups
We use the first 25% of the DEEP2 Galaxy Redshift Survey spectroscopic data to identify groups and clusters of galaxies in redshift space. The data set contains 8370 galaxies with confirmed redshifts
Groups of galaxies. III. the CfA survey
We present a statistically homogeneous group catalog (CfA) based on the CfA redshift survey (Huchra et al.). Groups in the catalog are all density enhancements in redshift space of a factor greater
Assessing the Accuracy of Masses and Spatial Correlations of Galaxy Groups
Two algorithms for the identification of galaxy groups from redshift surveys are tested by application to simulated data derived from N-body simulation. The accuracy of the membership assignments by
Three-dimensional Identification and Reconstruction of Galaxy Systems within Flux-limited Redshift Surveys
We have developed a new geometrical method for identifying and reconstructing a homogeneous and highly complete set of galaxy groups within flux-limited redshift surveys. Our method combines
Clustering of galaxies in a hierarchical universe — III. Mock redshift surveys
This is the third paper in a series which combines N-body simulations and semi-analytic modelling to provide a fully spatially resolved simulation of the galaxy formation and clustering processes.
Groups of galaxies in the Center for Astrophysics redshift survey
By applying the Huchra and Geller (1982) objective group identification algorithm to the Center for Astrophysics' redshift survey, a catalog of 128 groups with three or more members is extracted, and
Galaxy groups in the 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey: luminosity and mass statistics
Several statistics are applied to groups and galaxies in groups in the Two degree Field Galaxy Redshift Survey. Firstly we estimate the luminosity functions for different subsets of galaxies in
