Contrary to popular belief, in most cases epilepsy need not be a major handicap to the individual. However, epileptic patients usually have a variety of psychosocial problems, largely because of the pressures and frustrations with which they are often confronted in society and at home. The authors describe an interdisciplinary approach to the health care of these patients in which group treatment was a primary component.
