The genetic variability of iron utilization efficiency of groundnuts (A. hypogaea L.) when cultivated on calcareous soil is being used to avoid lime-induced chlorosis. It appears that the iron adsorption efficiency of the plant is limited up to a certain percentage of lime in the soil.
