We invesitgate the electronic correlation effect on the ground-state properties of the double exchange model for manganites by using a semiclassical approach and the slave-boson technique. It is shown that magnetic feild has a similar effect on the canted angle between manganese spins as doping concentration does, and the canted angle exhibits weak dependence on the Coulomb interaction. We have shown that the phase separation may take place at low doping. In the slave-boson saddle-point…

Magnetic Long-Range Order and Colossal Magnetoresistance Effect in Double Exchange Ladders

By applying Bogoliubov's inequality to double-exchange (DE) ladders, we show that the ferromagnetic (FM) order is absent in the new DE systems at finite temperatures. The incorporation of Jahn-Teller

Ground-state properties of the generalized ferromagnetic Kondo lattice model

A special kind of bosonization technique and renormalization group theory are employed to study an extended ferromagnetic Kondo lattice model. An effective Hamiltonian is deduced. On the basis of

Double-exchange model for noninteracting electron spins coupled to a lattice of classical spins: Phase diagram at zero temperature

The analytical zero-temperature phase diagram of the double exchange model for classical background spins as a function of the carrier density and Hund’s coupling in the entire range of these

The relation between the electronic and magnetic structures of manganites in the tight-binding approximation

Analytic expressions for the dispersion curves E(k) of RMnO3 (R=La, Pr, Nd, Sm, and other RE elements) have been obtained in the tight-binding approximation for the main types of magnetic ordering on

Peculiar physical properties and the colossal magnetoresistance of manganites (Review)

An attempt is made to analyze the most important physical properties of manganites of the La-Ca-Mn-O type, which exhibit the colossal magnetoresistance effect. The primary focus is on the

Numerical Studies of the Double Exchange Model

We perform numerical simulations for the double exchange model. By minimizing the total energy, we obtain the ground state spin configuration and charge distribution as functions of electron density,

Internal friction study of phase transformation in self-doping La0.8MnO3 bulk materials

Self-doping La0.8MnO3 bulk material is studied by internal friction, resistance and magnetic susceptibility measurements. Two resistance peaks appear in the curves of resistance versus temperature.

Electron interference in mesoscopic devices in the presence of nonclassical electromagnetic fields

The interaction of mesoscopic interference devices with nonclassical electromagnetic fields is studied. The external quantum fields induce a phase factor on the electric charges. This phase factor,
