The Sumatran rhinoceros (Dicerorhinus sumatrensis) is the smallest of all the rhino species. It is one of the rarest mammals in the world and is in imminent danger of extinction. A study was carried out on seven wild‐caught females, three wild‐caught males and one captive born female Sumatran rhinoceros at the Sumatran Rhinoceros Breeding Centre in Sungai Dusun, Selangor, Malaysia, beginning 1990. As a result of the paucity of scientific information on the reproductive biology of the Sumatran…
The Brachial Plexus of the Sumatran Rhino (Dicerorhinus sumatrensis) and Application of Brachial Plexus Anatomy Toward Mammal Phylogeny
TLDR
Despite a high rate of polymorphism, the peripheral nervous system seems to carry a phylogenetic signal consistent with other morphological data, and it is suggested the brachial plexus will contribute valuable data for phylogenetic testing.
VAGINOSCOPIC IDENTIFICATION OF A VERTICAL VAGINAL SEPTUM IN ONE PRIMIPAROUS AND THREE NULLIPAROUS SOUTHERN WHITE RHINOCEROS (CERATOTHERIUM SIMUM SIMUM)
TLDR
Vaginoscopy using a 57-cm-long, 10-mm, 30° forward viewing rigid endoscope provides adequate visualization of the caudal reproductive track in the southern white rhinoceros, and a detailed description of the vertical vaginal septum is presented.
The socio-sexual behaviour of extant archosaurs: implications for understanding dinosaur behaviour
TLDR
It is proposed that for the majority of dinosaurs there was no post-hatching care provided which would have allowed adults energy acquisition that would otherwise have been required for defence and provisioning to be redirected towards growth and increased fecundity, both traits for which there is fossil evidence.

TLDR
The successful application of ultrasonography to describe the reproductive anatomy of one male and four female Sumatran rhinoceroses at the Sungai Dusun Reserve in Selangor, Malaysia is detailed.
Use of ultrasonography in reproductive management of mares
TLDR
The purpose of this review is to discuss some of the uses of ultrasound in reproduction in the mare with emphasis on its application in an embryo transfer program.
PREPUTIAL SKIN AND GLANDS IN CERATOTHERIUM AND DICEROS.
TLDR
A feature of the Ceratotherium penis is the presence of distinctive surface papillae which are the mouths of eccrine sweat glands whose secretory tubules are embedded in a mass of subepidermal lymphoid tissue, an arrangement hitherto unrecorded for any mammal.
THE PREPUTIAL GLANDS OF CERATOTHERIUM
TLDR
Ces glandes priputiales sont fort remarquables extorieurement chez Ceratotherium : elles manquent chez Diceros.
