Introduction The Grid is rapidly evolving in both concept and implementation and there is a corresponding excitement and confusion as to the “right” way to think about Grid systems. One area of interest is called Grid Computing Environments (GCE) and roughly this describes the “user side” of a computing system where users interact via which controls a set of distributed back end resources.
