The known exact solutions of Einstein’s vacuum field equations modeling the gravitational fields of pure gravitational radiation involve wave fronts which are either planar or roughly spherical. We describe a scheme designed to check explicitly whether or not the wave fronts collide. From the spacetime point of view the scheme determines whether or not the null hypersurface histories of the wave fronts intersect and, in particular, allows easy identification of the cases in which the null…

Plane fronted limit of spherical electromagnetic and gravitational waves
We demonstrate how plane fronted waves with colliding wave fronts are the asymptotic limit of spherical electromagnetic and gravitational waves. In the case of the electromagnetic waves we utilize
X-type Soliton, Resonance Y-type Soliton and Hybrid Solutions of a (2+1)-dimensional Hirota-Satsuma-Ito System for the Shallow Water Waves
Water waves are observed in the rivers, lakes, oceans, etc. Under investigation in this paper is a (2+1)-dimensional Hirota-Satsuma-Ito system arising in the shallow water waves. Via the Hirota

Weyl Double Copy for Gravitational Waves.
TLDR
It is shown that for nontwisting radiative solutions, the Maxwell field and the scalar also satisfy the Maxwell equation and the wave equation on Minkowski spacetime and has a straightforward double copy interpretation.
An Approach to Gravitational Radiation by a Method of Spin Coefficients
A new approach to general relativity by means of a tetrad or spinor formalism is presented. The essential feature of this approach is the consistent use of certain complex linear combinations of

This paper is a contribution to the theory of pure radiation in General Relativity. It gives a survey of the radiation fields which possess a twistfree and non-expanding null congruence, and
Plane‐fronted gravitational and electromagnetic waves in spaces with cosmological constant
Plane‐fronted waves in spaces with nonzero cosmological constant are studied. In particular their complete classification, which depends essentially on the sign of the cosmological constant and that
