We study gravitational waves from a particle moving around a system of a point mass with a disk in Newtonian gravitational theory. A particle motion in this system can be chaotic when the gravitational contribution from a surface density of a disk is comparable with that from a point mass. In such an orbit, we sometimes find that there appears a phase in which particle motion becomes nearly regular (so-called ``stagnant motion'' or stickiness) for a finite time interval between more strongly…

Dynamics of a test particle around two massive bodies in decay circular orbits

A circular restricted three-body problem describes the motion of a test particle around two massive bodies in circular orbits. In this system, orbital decay caused by a gravitational radiation

Identification of gravitational wave signals from chaotic astrophysical systems through phase space and attractor properties

Phase space and attractor dimensions in a gravitational wave detector output can be estimated in order to identify chaotic (deterministic) signals in the presence of additive Gaussian noise. These

Gravitational Waves from a Pseudo-Newtonian Kerr Field with Halos

A close relation between gravitational waveforms and the types of trajectories in a superposed field between a pseudo-Newtonian Kerr black hole and quadrupolar halos is shown in detail. The

Gravitational waves from hierarchical triple systems with Kozai-Lidov oscillation

We study gravitational waves from a hierarchical three-body system up to first-order post-Newtonian approximation. Under certain conditions, the existence of a nearby third body can cause periodic

Free Motion around Black Holes with Disks or Rings: Between Integrability and Chaos–V

The complete integrability of geodesic motion, the well-known feature of fields of isolated stationary black holes, can easily be “spoiled” by the presence of some additional sources (even if highly

A Comparison between Second-Order Post-Newtonian Hamiltonian and Coherent Post-Newtonian Lagrangian in Spinning Compact Binaries

Using the coherent PN Lagrangian is necessary for obtaining an exact result in the research of dynamics of compact binary at certain PN order and numerical investigations from the spinning compact binaries show that the 2PN term plays an important role in causing chaos in the PN Hamiltonian system.

Second post-Newtonian Lagrangian dynamics of spinning compact binaries

The leading-order spin–orbit coupling is included in a post-Newtonian Lagrangian formulation of spinning compact binaries, which consists of the Newtonian term, first post-Newtonian (1PN) and 2PN

Free motion around black holes with discs or rings: between integrability and chaos - II: Chaos around black holes with discs or rings

Geodesic dynamics is regular in the fields of isolated statio n ry black holes. However, due to the presence of unstable periodic orbits, it easily becomes chaotic under various perturbations. Here
