. The rate of energy loss and orbital period decay of quasi- stable compact binary systems are derived in f ( R ) theory of gravity using the method of a single vertex graviton emission process from a classical source. After linearising the f ( R ) action written in an equivalent scalar-tensor format in the Einstein frame, we identify the appropriate interaction terms between the massless spin-2 tensor mode, massive scalar mode, and the energy momentum tensor. The definition of the scalar field…

Gravitational radiation from compact binary systems in screened modified gravity
- Physics

Screened modified gravity (SMG) is a kind of scalar-tensor theory with screening mechanisms, which can suppress the fifth force in dense regions and allow theories to evade the solar system and…
Constraints on f(R) theories of gravity from GW170817
- PhysicsPhysical Review D

A novel constraint on $f(R)$ theories of gravity is obtained from the gravitational wave signal emitted from the binary neutron star merger event GW170817. The $f(R)$ theories possess an additional…

We investigate the linearized form of metric $f(R)$-gravity, assuming that $f(R)$ is analytic about $R=0$ so it may be expanded as $f(R)=R+{a}_{2}{R}^{2}/2+\dots{}$. Gravitational radiation is…

For higher-derivative f(R) gravity, where R is the Ricci scalar, a class of models is proposed, which produce viable cosmology different from the ACDM at recent times and satisfy cosmological, Solar…
Vector gauge boson radiation from compact binary systems in a gauged Lμ−Lτ scenario

The orbital period of the binary neutron star systems decrease due to mainly quadrupole gravitational radiation which agrees with the observation to within one percent. Other types of radiation such…
