. The rate of energy loss and orbital period decay of quasi- stable compact binary systems are derived in f ( R ) theory of gravity using the method of a single vertex graviton emission process from a classical source. After linearising the f ( R ) action written in an equivalent scalar-tensor format in the Einstein frame, we identify the appropriate interaction terms between the massless spin-2 tensor mode, massive scalar mode, and the energy momentum tensor. The definition of the scalar field…

Gravitational radiation from compact binary systems in screened modified gravity

Screened modified gravity (SMG) is a kind of scalar-tensor theory with screening mechanisms, which can suppress the fifth force in dense regions and allow theories to evade the solar system and

Constraints on f(R) theories of gravity from GW170817

A novel constraint on $f(R)$ theories of gravity is obtained from the gravitational wave signal emitted from the binary neutron star merger event GW170817. The $f(R)$ theories possess an additional

Linearized f ( R ) gravity: Gravitational radiation and Solar System tests

We investigate the linearized form of metric $f(R)$-gravity, assuming that $f(R)$ is analytic about $R=0$ so it may be expanded as $f(R)=R+{a}_{2}{R}^{2}/2+\dots{}$. Gravitational radiation is

Disappearing cosmological constant in f(R) gravity

For higher-derivative f(R) gravity, where R is the Ricci scalar, a class of models is proposed, which produce viable cosmology different from the ACDM at recent times and satisfy cosmological, Solar

Vector gauge boson radiation from compact binary systems in a gauged Lμ−Lτ scenario

The orbital period of the binary neutron star systems decrease due to mainly quadrupole gravitational radiation which agrees with the observation to within one percent. Other types of radiation such

Cosmological constraints on f(R) acceleration models

Models which accelerate the expansion of the universe through the addition of a function of the Ricci scalar f(R) leave a characteristic signature in the large-scale structure of the universe at the

Quantum theory of gravitation

It is possible to construct the non-euclidean geometry of space-time from the information carried by neutral particles. Points are identified with the quantal events in which photons or neutrinos are

MODIFIED F (R) GRAVITY CONSISTENT WITH REALISTIC COSMOLOGY: FROM A MATTER DOMINATED EPOCH TO A DARK ENERGY UNIVERSE

We develop the general scheme for modified f(R) gravity reconstruction from any realistic Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) cosmology. We formulate several versions of modified gravity compatible with

Large scale structure of f(R) gravity

We study the evolution of linear cosmological perturbations in f(R) models of accelerated expansion in the physical frame where the gravitational dynamics are fourth order and the matter is minimally
