Crystals, as quantum objects typically much larger than their lattice spacing, are a counterexample to a frequent prejudice that quantum effects should not be pronounced at macroscopic distances. We propose that the Einstein theory of gravity only describes a fluid phase and that a phase transition of crystallization can occur under extreme conditions such as those inside the black hole. Such a crystal phase with lattice spacing of the order of the Planck length offers a natural mechanism for…
Black holes, Regular Made by General Relativity
By taking a collapsing star consisting of pressureless dust fluid instead of test particles in a pre-existing black hole background as a studying object, this paper, for the first time, derives out
Black Holes: Eliminating Information or Illuminating New Physics?
Black holes, initially thought of as very interesting mathematical and geometric solutions of general relativity, over time, have come up with surprises and challenges for modern physics. In modern
Black hole information paradox without Hawking radiation
By entangling soft massless particles one can create an arbitrarily large amount of entanglement entropy that carries an arbitrarily small amount of energy. Dropping this entropy into the black hole
AdS/CFT without holography: A hidden dimension on the CFT side and implications for black-hole entropy
We propose a new non-holographic formulation of AdS/CFT correspondence, according to which quantum gravity on AdS and its dual non-gravitational field theory both live in the same number D of
A new model of consciousness derived from black hole information paradox
Panpsychism is the view that consciousness is a fundamental feature of reality. Panpsychism addresses the fact that no physical theories can ever be able to explain conscious experience in terms of
Maximal acceleration and black hole evaporation
. We discuss how in certain theories of spacetime admitting a maximal proper acceleration Hawking radiation does not completely evaporate the black hole. The black hole remnant’s mass depends on the

Quantum phase transitions and the breakdown of classical general relativity
Abstract It is proposed that the infinite-red-shift surface of a black hole is a quantum phase transition of the vacuum of space-time analogous to the liquid-vapour critical point of a Bose fluid.

This paper examines the conundrum faced when one attempts to understand the dynamics of black hole formation and evaporation without abandoning unitary evolution: remnants that carry large amounts of information and whose size and mass depend on their information content.
Better late than never: information retrieval from black holes.
We show that, in order to preserve the equivalence principle until late times in unitarily evaporating black holes, the thermodynamic entropy of a black hole must be primarily entropy of entanglement
What Exactly is the Information Paradox
The black hole information paradox tells us something important about the way quantum mechanics and gravity fit together. In these lectures I try to give a pedagogical review of the essential physics

Time Dependence of Hawking Radiation Entropy
If a black hole starts in a pure quantum state and evaporates completely by a unitary process, the von Neumann entropy of the Hawking radiation initially increases and then decreases back to zero
Black holes: complementarity or firewalls?
A bstractWe argue that the following three statements cannot all be true: (i) Hawking radiation is in a pure state, (ii) the information carried by the radiation is emitted from the region near the
Particle creation by black holes
AbstractIn the classical theory black holes can only absorb and not emit particles. However it is shown that quantum mechanical effects cause black holes to create and emit particles as if they were
