Grasshoppers in the Outfield: An Examination of the Effects of Sports on Children

Abstract

Acknowledgements I would like to thank Dr. Kathleen Brown for her wisdom and guidance during throughout the process of this paper. Thank you for being my teacher, thesis reader, friend and so much more! It is from your child development class that I learned the most about children and became truly inspired to be a teacher. I would also like to thank my family. Dad, you have set a wonderful example for Ryan and I to follow. It is because of you that I want to become and Army Officer and learned to explore. Mom, you are a beacon for love and accomplishment, I hope one day I can be half the mother you are. Finally, Ryan, though you are younger, I still look up to you. You are a strong, smart young man and I am so excited to see you grow up. It is awesome to have you at school (and ROTC) with me. Without my family, I would not have become the young woman I am today. Thank you for supporting me through all I have done and will do.
