Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) plays a pivotal role in the regulation of reproduction in vertebrates through interaction with a specific receptor. The GnRH-stimulated gonadotropin synthesis and release are regulated by the GnRH receptors (GnRHRs).
