Laparotomized female tadpoles of Rana catesbeiana at TK stages X-XII, about 9 months old, were implanted intraperitoneally with empty capsules or capsules containing 4-hydroxyandrostenedione (4-OHA), known as an aromatase inhibitor in vertebrates.
