The spectral sensitivity of normal and curarized goldfish was determined using a conditioned heart rate procedure. The position on the retina of white adapting backgrounds and superimposed spot stimuli remained stationary throughout an experiment. The spectral sensitivity curve had three components: a peak at 460 nm, a shoulder at 520 nm and a peak at 660 nm.
