Biotinylated glycoconjugates which were designed as oligosaccharides attached to 30 kDa polyacrylamide were coated on a microarray platform XNAonGOLD, which was developed earlier for an oligonucleotide assay. The specificity of antibodies to carbohydrate antigens was analyzed using the glyco-microarray. Comparison of the obtained results with those of common 96-well plate ELISA completely coincided with the found antibody specificities. However, parameters such as the analytical sensitivity of…

40 years of glyco-polyacrylamide in glycobiology.
Polyacrylamide conjugates of glycans have long been widely used in many research areas of glycobiology, mainly for immobilizing glycans in solid-phase assays and as multivalent inhibitors. Pending
Immobilization of polyacrylamide-based glycoconjugates on solid phase in immunosorbent assays.
TLDR
Three polystyrene coating techniques are described: direct physical adsorption, covalent binding, and immobilization using the biotin tag, with special emphasis on the application niches of different immobilization techniques as related to the specificity of each method of glycan-binding protein assay.
Glycans: Array‐Based Techniques
TLDR
Several interesting applications of glycan array technology are described, such as assessing the specificities of carbohydrate-binding lectins and antibodies, profiling antiglycan antibodies in serum as biomarkers of disease, and evaluating carbohydrate-dependent cell binding.
An oxime-based glycocluster microarray.
TLDR
Two original oxime-based methods to prepare surfaces displaying well-defined structures and valency in a given microspot with improved recognition potency with lectins are reported.
Glycan arrays to decipher the specificity of plant lectins.
TLDR
This work has shown that microarray technology has successfully been introduced into the field of glycobiology and allows the rapid and comprehensive screening of carbohydrate-binding proteins for interaction with a large set of carbohydrate structures and characterization of their carbohydrate- binding properties.
Design of carbohydrate multiarrays.
Glycan microarrays for decoding the glycome.
TLDR
This review covers the development of glycan microarrays and applications that have provided insights into the roles of mammalian and microbial GBPs.
New development of glycan arrays.
TLDR
Glycan arrays are not only a powerful tool for basic research, but also a promising technique for medical diagnosis, and detection of pathogens and cancers.
Enzymatic glycosylation of multivalent scaffolds.
TLDR
Though there is still a long way until the Nature's ideal of multivalent glycans is achievable in the laboratory, the sketched pathways to multivalent glycostructures open tremendous possibilities for the future glycobiological research.

TLDR
Examples of the application of the conjugates as tools for the study of lectins, antibodies, and glycosyltransferases in glycobiology, cytochemistry and histochemistry are described along with the prospects of the further development of the presented approach in glycotechnology and medicine.
Carbohydrate microarrays for the recognition of cross-reactive molecular markers of microbes and host cells
TLDR
The development of a carbohydrate-based microarray to extend the scope of biomedical research on carbohydrate-mediated molecular recognition and anti-infection responses is described and the potential of carbohydrate microarrays is demonstrated by the discovery of previously undescribed cellular markers, Dex-Ids.
Oriented immobilization of antibodies onto the gold surfaces via their native thiol groups.
TLDR
The immobilization procedure provides orientation of IgG fragments in terms of the similar distance between the binding site of the antibody and the surface of the gold support, which does not cause the distribution of the apparent affinity constants.
A streptavidin surface on planar glass substrates for the detection of biomolecular interaction.
TLDR
A general protocol was developed allowing the immobilization of biotinylated compounds using the rife biotin-streptavidin system and biomolecular interaction experiments with an antibody against estrone were carried out to show the quality of the transducer surface.
