Glutathione peroxidase (Gpx) is one of the most important anti-oxidant enzymes in yeast. Gpx3 is a ubiquitously expressed isoform that modulates the activities of redox-sensitive thiol proteins, particularly those involved in signal transduction pathways and protein translocation.
