The use of prognostic markers for breast cancer allows therapeutic strategies to be defined more efficiently. The expression of glutathione (GSH) and glutathione peroxidase (GPX) in tumor cells has been evaluated as a predictor of prognosis and response to cytotoxic treatments. Its immunoexpression was assessed in 63 women diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in a retrospective study. The results showed that high GSH expression was associated with tumors negative for the estrogen receptor…
Alterations in Serum Antioxidant Profile In Patients with Metastatic Breast Cancer Undergoing Chemotherapy- An Observational Study
TLDR
An insight is provided on systemic redox state and differential antioxidant status in metastatic breast disease among different chemotherapy treated groups and Evaluation of these antioxidants may be useful in chemotherapy treatment monitoring and prognosis of metastatic Breast cancer.
The correlation of antioxidant levels of breast cancer
TLDR
Elevated levels of both peroxynitrite and MDA is seen in patients with breast cancer which may be used as serum markers for the early detection of breast cancer.
Tissue levels of oxidative stress markers and antioxidants in colorectal cancer patients
TLDR
The results suggest that oxidant and antioxidant parameters can be used as indicators of an imbalance in humans, and as this imbalance increases, the human body may be vulnerable to developing cancer.
SENSITIVITY OF BREAST CANCER STEM CELLS (CD24-/CD44+) TO DOXORUBICIN IS ASSOCIATED WITH OXIDATIVE STRESS STATUS
TLDR
Doxorubicin treatment induced cytotoxicity after 2 d by increasing the superoxide levels of the BCSCs, but started to increase after 8 d, and the sensitivity of BC SCs to doxorubsicin decreased due to the suppressed oxidative stress from the enhanced antioxidant activity of the MnSOD.
Transcriptomic and functional pathway features were associated with survival after pathological complete response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer.
TLDR
The genes and functional pathway features associated with pCR and survival are demonstrated utilizing the bioinformatics approach to public BC cohorts and some genes involved in recurrence after pCR due to NAC also served as prognostic factors in primary BC.
The Effect of Glutathione Peroxidase-1 Knockout on Anticancer Drug Sensitivities and Reactive Oxygen Species in Haploid HAP-1 Cells
TLDR
It is reported that the knockout of GPx1 in HAP-1 cells has no significant effect on cell size, viability, growth and metabolic rates, and oxidative stress defenses.
Involvement of glutathione and glutathione metabolizing enzymes in human colorectal cancer cell lines and tissues.
TLDR
Since GSH and GSH metabolizing enzymes are present at elevated levels in colonic tumors, they may serve as clinically useful biomarkers of colon cancer, and/or targets for anti-colon cancer drugs.

Glutathione in Cancer Biology and Therapy
TLDR
An analysis of links among GSH, adaptive responses to stress, molecular mechanisms of invasive cancer cell survival and death, and sensitization of metastatic cells to therapy shows that acceleration of GSH efflux facilitates selective GSH depletion in metastasis cells.
A study of glutathione status in the blood and tissues of patients with breast cancer
TLDR
The high redGSH levels are associated with the enhancement of cell proliferation and resistance to apoptosis in the cancer cells, and the loss of the large amount of erythrocyteRedGSH may be due to increased detoxification capacities and defence against oxidative stress.
Antioxidant status and lipid peroxidation in the blood of breast cancer patients of different ages
TLDR
The data support the importance of endogenous AOs in the etiology of breast cancer across all levels of predicted risk and indicate significant role of oxidative‐induced injury in the breast carcinogenesis, particularly during the later stages of aging.

TLDR
Explaining associations between tumour type, size and grade, and lymph node status and HER2 status to patients may empower them to deal with the psychological effects of a diagnosis of breast cancer while providing hope for the future.
Lipid peroxidation and antioxidant status in patients with breast cancer.
TLDR
Findings indicate the significant increase in lipid peroxidation as evidenced by the level of TBARS and antioxidant status such as elevated SOD, CAT, GPx, GSH and GST in samples from breast cancer patients compared to controls.
