A bstractIn previous papers [1, 2] we argued that mesons and baryons can be described as rotating open strings in holographic backgrounds. Now we turn to closed strings, which should be the duals of glueballs. We look at the rotating folded closed string in both flat and curved backgrounds.A basic prediction of the closed string model is that the slope of Regge trajectories is half that of open strings. We propose that a simple method to identify glueballs is to look for resonances that belong…

Abstract
Recent lattice results strongly support the Axionic String Ansatz (ASA) for quantum numbers of glueballs in 3D Yang-Mills theory. The ASA treats glueballs as closed bosonic strings. The…

Classical rotating closed string are folded strings. At the folding points the scalar curvature associated with the induced metric diverges. As a consequence one cannot properly quantize the…

We suggest to use the state Y (4630), which decays predominantly to ΛcΛc, as a window to the landscape of tetraquarks. We propose a simple criterion to decide whether a state is a stringy exotic…

We propose a novel approach to construction of hadron spectroscopy. The case of light nonstrange mesons is considered. By assumption, all such mesons above 1 GeV appear due to creation of constituent…
Glueballs and deconfinement temperature in AdS/QCD

We put forward an alternative way to estimate the deconfinement temperature in bottom-up holographic models. The deconfinement in AdS/QCD is related to the Hawking-Page phase transition, in which the…

Are Glueballs Knotted Closed Strings

Glueballs have a natural interpretation as closed strings in Yang-Mills theory. Their stability requires that the string carries a nontrivial twist, or then it is knot- ted. Since a twist can be…

Closed String with Masses in Models of Baryons and Glueballs

The closed string carrying $n$ point-like masses is considered as the model of a baryon ($n=3$), a glueball ($n=2$ or 3) or another exotic hadron. For this system the rotational states are obtained…
