  • This paper addresses the impact of globalization on national identity by means of a case study of the Netherlands. It makes three main points. First, I propose a nuanced alternative to scenarios that posit the decline or reinvigoration of national identity, by arguing that in the global age national identities undergo embattled redefinition.
