A small percentage of Orthoptera Acridomorpha is comprised species dependant on continental water ecosystems. However, as phytophagous insects, they are important at the basis of the trophic chain, mainly in regions with large permanent biota resulting from the pulses of the rivers. An assessment of the composition and origin of the populations from different biogeographical regions is attempted, and the state of our current knowledge is given in Tables 1, 2 and 3.
