This paper presents new data about Early Permian (Cisuralian) strata, palynostratigraphy and absolute dating from the Copacabana Formation in central Bolivia. Recent stratigraphic and palynologic data from marine and transitional rocks at Apillapampa refine the age of Cisuralian palynomorphs in South America. Twelve samples interbedded with five volcanic ashes (processed and productive) yielded 94 palynomorph species arranged in two informal palynoassemblages: the lower assemblage Vittatina…
Late Pennsylvanian and Early Cisuralian palynofloras from the Rajmahal Basin, eastern India, and their chronological significance
ABSTRACT This work documents for the first time a palynological assemblage in the Rajmahal Basin, tentatively considered probable youngest Late Pennsylvanian assemblage, which was hitherto considered
Re-evaluation of the Permian macrofossils from the Parnaíba Basin: biostratigraphic, palaeoenvironmental and palaeogeographical implications
Abstract Although Permian fossils have been known from the Parnaíba Basin for two centuries, and some faunal and flora elements are well known worldwide, research on the fossil assemblages from this
Diagenesis of the Pennsylvanian –Lower Permian Copacabana Formation, western Bolivian Altiplano
An investigation of a Devonian/Carboniferous Boundary section on the Bolivian Altiplano
Abstract The Devonian/Carboniferous Boundary (DCB) interval is associated with mass extinction, isotope excursions and a short glacial episode. This study investigates how boundary extinction and

Late Carbonifeous to Permian core samples from two borehole sections, STRAT 1 and CKP 6, that penetrate the glacial to postglacial and coal-bearing Lower Karoo sequence, Kalahari Karoo Basin,
Palynostratigraphy of the late Palaeozoic of Uruguay, Paraná Basin
Permian palynofloral assemblages of the Chaco-Paraná Basin (Argentina): systematics and stratigraphic significance
Core samples from an upper Palaeozoic, partly glaciogene borehole section (Ordonez: YPF Cd O es-1) in the southern Chaco-Parana Basin (Cordoba Province, northeastern Argentina) have produced variable
Pennsylvanian and Permian sequences in Bolivia: Direct responses to Gondwana glaciation
Western Gondwana underwent a steady drift from mid-latitudes (~50°S, Early Carboniferous) to lower latitudes (<40°S) by Late Carboniferous time, and glacial deposition had ended in Bolivia by the
Palynology of the Permian San Miguel Formation (Western Paraná Basin, Paraguay): Gondwanan biostratigraphic correlations
The palynological analysis of five samples from three levels in cores of the Mallorquin-1 well (Parana Basin, eastern Paraguay) is presented here. The borehole penetrated the San Miguel Formation,
Abstract Reworking of Devonian, Carboniferous and Permian palynomorphs into the Lower Triassic of western Canada, Yukon, the Canadian Arctic Archipelago and Alaska has been documented by a number of
Permian palynoflora of the Ainim and Aiduna formations, West Papua
This initial palynological analysis of Permian rocks of West Papua (western New Guinea) is based on samples collected from each of six localities: three in the northern Birds Head region (Ainim
