We present results from a wide-field imaging study of the globular cluster (GC) systems of a sample of edge-on, Sb-Sc spiral galaxies ∼7-20 Mpc away. This study is part of a larger survey of the ensemble properties of the GC populations of giant galaxies. We imaged the galaxies in BVR filters with large-format CCD detectors on the WIYN 3.5 m telescope to projected radii of ∼20-40 kpc. For four galaxies (NGC 2683, NGC 3556, NGC 4157, and NGC 7331), we quantify the radial distributions of the GC…
THE GLOBULAR CLUSTER POPULATION OF NGC 7457: CLUES TO THE EVOLUTION OF FIELD S0 GALAXIES
In this paper, we present the results of a wide-field imaging study of the globular cluster (GC) system of the field S0 galaxy NGC 7457. To derive the global properties of the GC system, we obtained
GLOBULAR CLUSTER SYSTEMS AND THEIR HOST GALAXIES: COMPARISON OF SPATIAL DISTRIBUTIONS AND COLORS
We present a study of the spatial and color distributions of four early-type galaxies and their globular cluster (GC) systems observed as part of our ongoing wide-field imaging survey. We use BVR
GLOBULAR CLUSTER SYSTEMS OF SPIRAL AND S0 GALAXIES: RESULTS FROM WIYN IMAGING OF NGC 1023, NGC 1055, NGC 7332, AND NGC 7339
We present results from a study of the globular cluster (GC) systems of four spiral and S0 galaxies imaged as part of an ongoing wide-field survey of the GC systems of giant galaxies. The target
WIYN IMAGING OF THE GLOBULAR CLUSTER SYSTEMS OF THE SPIRAL GALAXIES NGC 891 AND NGC 4013
We present results from a WIYN 3.5 m telescope imaging study of the globular cluster (GC) systems of the edge-on spiral galaxies NGC 891 and NGC 4013. We used the 10′ × 10′ Minimosaic Imager to
Globular cluster systems in nearby dwarf galaxies – III. Formation efficiencies of old globular clusters
We investigate the origin of the shape of the globular cluster (GC) system scaling parameters as a function of galaxy mass, i.e. specific frequency (SN), specific luminosity (SL), specific mass (SM)
A CATALOG OF GLOBULAR CLUSTER SYSTEMS: WHAT DETERMINES THE SIZE OF A GALAXY'S GLOBULAR CLUSTER POPULATION?
We present a catalog of 422 galaxies with published measurements of their globular cluster (GC) populations. Of these, 248 are E galaxies, 93 are S0 galaxies, and 81 are spirals or irregulars. Among
Globular cluster systems of relic galaxies
We analyse the globular cluster (GC) systems of a sample of 15 massive, compact early-type galaxies (ETGs), 13 of which have already been identified as good relic galaxy candidates on the basis of
A Blue Tilt in the Globular Cluster System of the Milky Way-like Galaxy NGC 5170
Here, we present Hubble Space Telescope/Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) imaging, in the B and I bands, of the edge-on Sb/Sc galaxy NGC 5170. Excluding the central disc region, we detect 142 objects
Substructure in the Globular Cluster Populations of the Virgo Cluster Elliptical Galaxies M84 and M86
We have carried out a search for substructure within the globular cluster (GC) systems of M84 (NGC 4374) and M86 (NGC 4406), two giant elliptical galaxies in the Virgo Cluster. We use wide-field (36′
The connection between globular cluster systems and their host galaxy and environment: a case study of the isolated elliptical NGC 821
In an effort to probe the globular cluster (GC) system of an isolated elliptical galaxy, a comprehensive analysis of the NGC 821 GC system was performed. New imaging from the WIYN Mini-Mosaic imager,

The Globular Cluster System of the Spiral Galaxy NGC 7814
We present the results of a wide-field photometric study of the globular cluster (GC) system of the edge-on Sab spiral NGC 7814. This is the first spiral to be fully analyzed from our survey of the
The Globular Cluster Systems of the Early-Type Galaxies NGC 3379, NGC 4406, and NGC 4594 and Implications for Galaxy Formation
We have investigated the global properties of the globular cluster (GC) systems of three early-type galaxies: the Virgo Cluster elliptical NGC 4406, the field elliptical NGC 3379, and the field S0
The Globular Cluster System in the Outer Regions of NGC 4472
We have undertaken a study of the globular cluster (GC) systems of a large sample of elliptical and spiral galaxies in order to test specific predictions of galaxy formation models. Here we present
HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE Imaging of Globular Clusters in the Edge-on Spiral Galaxies NGC 4565 and NGC 5907
We present a study of the globular cluster systems of two edge-on spiral galaxies, NGC 4565 and NGC 5907, from WFPC2 images in the F450W and F814W filters. The globular cluster systems of both
Hubble Space Telescope observations of globular cluster systems along the Hubble sequence of spiral galaxies
We have studied the globular cluster systems of seven giant, edge-on spiral galaxies using Hubble Space Telescope imaging in V and I. The galaxy sample covers the Hubble types Sa to Sc, allowing us
Evolution of Globular Cluster Systems in Elliptical Galaxies
We study the evolution of globular cluster systems (GCS) in elliptical galaxies and explore the dependence of their main properties on the mass and the size of the host galaxy. We focus our
Keck imaging of the globular cluster systems in the early-type galaxies NGC 1052 and 7332
The presence of two globular cluster subpopulations in early-type galaxies is now the norm rather than the exception. Here we present two more examples for which the host galaxy appears to have
New Insights from HST Studies of Globular Cluster Systems. I. Colors, Distances, and Specific Frequencies of 28 Elliptical Galaxies
We present an analysis of the globular cluster systems of 28 elliptical galaxies using archival WFPC2 images in the V and I bands. The V-I color distributions of at least 50% of the galaxies appear
The Kinematics and Metallicity of the M31 Globular Cluster System
With the ultimate aim of distinguishing between various models describing the formation of galaxy halos (e.g., radial or multiphase collapse and random mergers), we have completed a spectroscopic
Wide-Field Washington Photometry of the NGC 5128 Globular Cluster System. II. Large-Scale Properties of the System
Building on the CMT1 photometric database presented in Paper I, in this paper we derive the large-scale properties of the globular cluster system (GCS) in NGC 5128, the nearest giant elliptical and
