The effects of EGb 761 on the CNS underlie one of its major therapeutic indications; i.e., individuals suffering from deteriorating cerebral mechanisms related to age-associated impairments of memory, attention and other cognitive functions. [] Key Result Both flavonoid and ginkgolide constituents are involved in the free radical-scavenging and antioxidant effects of EGb 761 which decrease tissue levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and inhibit membrane lipid peroxidation.

Benefits of Treatment with Ginkgo Biloba Extract EGb 761 Alone or Combined with Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitors in Vascular Dementia

After 12 months of treatment EGb 761 alone or combined with AChEI showed cognitive and behavioral benefits in patients suffering from VaD, providing additional real-world evidence for the combined use of EGb 661 and anti-dementia drugs in VaD patients.

Neural and Behavioural Effects of the Ginkgo biloba Leaf Extract Egb 761

The possible neurogenic-enhancing effects of Ginkgo on adult hippocampal neurogenesis as a possible mechanism underlying its nootropic effects have not been evaluated, and experiments discussed in the present thesis assessed such a possibility.

Neuroprotective and Antioxidant Effect of Ginkgo biloba Extract Against AD and Other Neurological Disorders

This review summarizes recent advancements in understanding of the potential use of Ginkgo biloba extract in the prevention of AD including its antioxidant property.

Effects of Ginkgo biloba extract (EGb 761) on gene expression: Possible relevance to neurological disorders and age‐associated cognitive impairment

Results indicate that the therapeutic effects of EGb 761 on cognitive impairment (dementia) may involve its action of altering gene expression, and a fundamental mechanism that may underlie EGb 661‐induced neuroprotection is identified.

The Use of Ginkgo Biloba L. as a Neuroprotective Agent in the Alzheimer’s Disease

By exploring more about the pathogenesis of the disease and the benefits of G. biloba extract for patients with Alzheimer’s disease, it will be possible to create an individualized therapeutic protocol to optimize the treatment.

Antioxidant properties of a Ginkgo biloba leaf extract (EGb 761) in animal models of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases

Preclinical studies performed both in vitro and in vivo of Alzheimer ́s and Parkinson’s diseases, shows that EGb761 produces neuroprotective/antioxidant effect.

This volume will be of real interest to the student of gestation and students primarily interested in gestation are handicapped in attempting to evaluate the importance of self-regulation in gestation and doubly handicapped, because of the absence of comparative studies.
