Hypothalamic hamartomas are congenital malformations: consisting of disorganized, mature, neuronal elements in proportions, similar to that of normal tissue. The clinical presentation may include any combination of the following: asymptomatic, precocious puberty, behavioral disturbances and various types of seizures.
