Several major studies of Łódź have appeared recently, including studies that have long been in preparation and a translation of a major work previously only available in Yiddish. Studies of other ghettos (e.g., Minsk and Białystok) that provide ‘thick descriptions’ and that combine perpetrator and victim-centred approaches have also begun to appear. Gordon J.
