We performed a genotypic characterization of new sulfur selective dibenzothiophene (DBT) desulfurizing strains which have been isolated from hydrocarbon contaminated soils originating from Mexican refineries. We compared them to two reference strains (strains Rhodococcus erythropolis IGTS8 and R. erythropolis X309).
