Members of plant WRKY gene family are ancient transcription factors that function in plant growth and development and respond to biotic and abiotic stresses. In our present study, we have investigated WRKY family genes in Brachypodium distachyon, a new model plant of family Poaceae. We identified a total of 86 WRKY genes from B. distachyon and explored their chromosomal distribution and evolution, domain alignment, promoter cis-elements, and expression profiles. Combining the analysis of…

A genome-wide annotation of soybean WRKY family was carried out and the participation of some members in response to P. pachyrhizi infection was demonstrated, suggesting the manipulation of WRKYs as a strategy to increase fungal resistance in soybean plants.

Genome-Wide Analysis of WRKY Genes and Their Response to Hormone and Mechanic Stresses in Carrot

A genome-wide analysis of WRKYs using a chromosome-scale genome assembly of carrot found that more than half of them were derived from whole-genome duplication events, suggesting that WGDs have played a major role during the evolution of the WRKY gene family.

Identification of yellowhorn (Xanthoceras sorbifolium) WRKY transcription factor family and analysis of abiotic stress response model

In the present comprehensive analysis of WRKY transcription factors in yellowhorn, 65 WRKY genes were identified and defined based on their location on the chromosome and structures of the encoded proteins, cis-elements of the promoter region, and expression patterns were determined.

Genome-wide analysis of the MYB transcription factor superfamily in soybean

The first genome-wide analysis of the whole MYB superfamily in a legume species, soybean, including the gene structures, phylogeny, chromosome locations, conserved motifs, and expression patterns, as well as a comparative genomic analysis with Arabidopsis reveals that MYB genes play conserved and various roles in plants, which is indicative of a divergence in function.

Genome-Wide Identification and Evolutionary and Expression Analyses of MYB-Related Genes in Land Plants

It is hypothesized that MYB-related proteins initially diversified through three major expansions and domain shuffling, but remained relatively conserved throughout the subsequent plant evolution.

A comprehensive transcriptional profiling of the WRKY gene family in rice under various abiotic and phytohormone treatments.

The expression divergence of duplicated WRKY genes under normal or stressed conditions showed that high expression divergence has occurred not only among fragmentally but also among tandemly duplicated genes, suggesting that the highexpression divergence could be one of the mechanisms for the retention of these duplicatedWRKY genes.
