In this study, the use of inter-simple sequence repeats (ISSR) to assess genetic diversity between cultivated potatoes (Solanum tuberosum subsp. tuberosum) is reported. ISSR technology rapidly reveals high polymorphic fingerprints and thus determines the genetic diversity among potato cultivars. Nine primers were selected according to the number of amplified markers and the level of polymorphism detected.
