We have explored the phenotypic and genetic overlap between autophagocytosis and cytoplasm to vacuole targeting in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Complementation analysis was performed with mutants in each of these groups (aut and cvt, respectively), and three complementation groups were found to overlap.
