The black orchid (Coelogyne pandurata Lindley) is an endemic orchid from East Kalimantan, that is characterized by the large size of flowers, with greenish sepals and petals, with a black labellum. Recently, the population of this orchid was decreased and its extinction threatened to be extinct because of overcollecting and/or habitat destruction. The mass propagation of this orchid is urgently needed. Micropropagation of the black orchid was carried out by introducing the Arabidopsis gene…

PERBANYAKAN ANGGREK HITAM (Coeloegyne pandurata)DENGAN MEDIA ORGANIK DAN VACIN WENT SECARA IN VITRO
TLDR
The results of this research show that respose of VW medium and organic medium can be used as a propagation medium for black orchid in tissue culture 5 week after initiation/germination (week-5).
In vitro Seed Germination of Coelogyne asperata Lindl. (Orchidaceae)
A protocol for in vitro seed germination of Coelogyne asperata Lindl. has been established successfully. Immature seeds from 182 days old capsule were cultured on three different basal media;
The Alternative Media Supporting the Protocorm and Plantlet Growth of the Indonesian Black Orchid (Coelogyne pandurata Lindl.) Grown In Vitro
Due to the high cost of the most often used basic media in tissue culture, it is vital to identify more affordable alternatives. This research aimed to determine the best alternative culture media
In Vitro Culture Of Orchids: The Roles Of Class-1 Knox Gene In Shoot Development. A Review.
TLDR
An attempt to understand the role of class-1 KNOX gene and its relationship with other genes in the initiation of shoot apical meristem (SAM) for shoot development from orchid protocorm (a tubercle of developing orchid embryo) and PLBs (Protocorm Like Bodies) during in vitro culture will be discussed.

Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of the wild orchid species Phalaenopsis amabilis
TLDR
The transformed intact protocorms, which are young orchid seedlings of P. amabilis, regenerated plants under the same conditions that showed the highest frequency of shooting, indicating that a kanamycin resistance gene under the control of the 35S promoter can be used as a selective marker.
Control of Growth and Development of Protocorm like Body Derived from Callus by Carbon Sources in Phalaenopsis
TLDR
Among the carbon sources tested, sorbitol supported plantlet development the best in vitro and proved to be the most suitable carbon source for plantlet initiation and development from PLB.
A knotted1-like homeobox gene in Arabidopsis is expressed in the vegetative meristem and dramatically alters leaf morphology when overexpressed in transgenic plants.
TLDR
The hypothesis that class 1 kn1-like genes play a role in morphogenesis is supported by the characterization of two genes, KNAT1 and KNAT2 that were cloned from Arabidopsis using the kn1 homeobox as a heterologous probe.
Over-expression of tobacco knotted1-type class1 homeobox genes alters various leaf morphology.
TLDR
It is suggested that the kn1-type class1 family can be divided into two subgroups, and that the differences in their ability to induce the abnormal phenotype corresponds to the structures of their conserved domains.
Molecular Genetics of Plant Development
TLDR
Taking a systems approach, concepts in plant development are compared with those in animal development, and complex processes, such as flowering and photomorphogenesis, are presented as pathways of gene action regulated by positional and environmental cues.
