To examine the genetic structure of Japanese scallop populations (Mizuhopecten yessoensis) in Hokkaido prefecture, Japan, and compare it with those in the Aomori prefecture, we applied a method for lineage analysis based on sequence variation in a mitochondrial DNA segment (NcR2).
