An investigation was made in 252 Barbari and Jamunapari kids to assess their resistance to natural infection with gastrointestinal (GI) nematodes and to establish indicator traits for such resistance in Indian goats. The indicator traits, faecal egg counts (FEC) and packed cell volume (PCV) were affected by various genetic and non-genetic factors.
