Background: The human chemoattractant receptor expressed on Th2 cells (CRTH2), the receptor for prostaglandin D2, induces cell migration in eosinophils, basophils, and Th2 cells. The gene encoding CRTH2 is located on chromosome 11q13. Several groups, including ours, have reported significant associations between this region and various traits associated with allergic diseases such as asthma and atopy.
