We demonstrate a technique of generating dual-wavelength picosecond pulses with a self-seeded Fabry-Perot laser diode, where the two lasing wavelengths are selected from the same mode of the laser diode by the spectrally separated orthogonally polarized reflection peaks of a polarization-maintaining fiber Bragg grating. Using this technique, we generated stable dual-wavelength pulses that had a pulsewidth of 59.0-63.3 ps, a wavelength separation of 0.53 nm, and a pulse rate of about 2 GHz. We… CONTINUE READING
