Inferences for acquiring so-called secondary assumptions about the user from existing user model contents are typically initiated by queries to a user m odel. To avoid the cost of applications waiting for results, input-driven generation of secondary ssumptions can be employed. We show how input-driven secondary inferences have been realized i n the user modeling shell system BGP-MS.
