Abstract. We present a construction and basic properties of a class of continuous distributions of an arbitrary form defined on a compact (bounded) set by concatenating in a continuous manner three probability density functions with bounded support using a modified mixture technique. These three distributions may represent growth, stability and decline stages of a physical or mental phenomenon.
The General Segmented Distribution
We develop a distribution supported on a bounded interval with a probability density function that is constructed from any finite number of linear segments. With an increasing number of segments, the

Randomly Weighted Averages as: TSP Generation
A new rich class of generalized two-sided power (TSP) distributions, where their density functions are expressed in terms of the Gauss hypergeometric functions, is introduced and studied. In this
Some theoretical results regarding the polygonal distribution
TLDR
It is proved that polygonal density functions provide O(g− 2) approximations to any density function from the hypothesized class of continuous and concave densities with bounded second derivatives.
The distribution of the product of two independent generalized trapezoidal random variables
ABSTRACT In this article, we derive the probability density function (pdf) of the product of two independent generalized trapezoidal random variables having different supports, in closed form, by
A generalization for two-sided power distributions and adjusted method of moments
A new rich class of generalized two-sided power (TSP) distributions, where their density functions are expressed in terms of the Gauss hypergeometric functions, is introduced and studied. In this

The natural history of lung cancer in a periodically screened population.
TLDR
A mathematical model of the progression kinetics of lung cancer in a periodically screened population is proposed and data collected by the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York are used for parameter estimation, which imply that annual radiographic screening from age 45 to 80 might decrease mortality from adenocarcinoma of lung by something less than 20%.
On the instrumental resolution in X-ray reflectivity experiments
A general method to describe the instrumental resolution function for grazing-angle X-ray scattering experiments is presented. A resolution function {\scr R} is introduced as the Gaussian
