Generalized parton distributions have been introduced in recent years as a suitable theoretical tool to study the structure of the nucleon. Unifying the concepts of parton distributions and hadronic form factors, they provide a comprehensive framework for describing the quark and gluon structure of the nucleon. In this review their formal properties and modeling are discussed, summarizing the most recent developments in the phenomenological description of these functions. The status of…

Modelling the nucleon structure

Abstract. We review the status of our understanding of nucleon structure based on the modelling of different kinds of parton distributions. We use the concept of generalized

Imaging the Partonic Structure of the Nucleon

We discuss the main properties of different types of parton distribution functions, which provide complementary multidimensional images of the partonic structure of the nucleon. These distributions

The multidimensional nucleon structure

We discuss different kinds of parton distributions, which allow one to obtain a multidimensional picture of the internal structure of the nucleon. We use the concept of generalized transverse

Generalized parton distributions in the valence region from deeply virtual compton scattering

This work reviews the recent developments in the field of generalized parton distributions and deeply virtual Compton scattering in the valence region and examines several state-of-the-art parametrizations of GPDs.

The calculation of nucleon form factors using new ansatz for t-dependence of parton distribution functions

In this study, we have calculated the form factors of the nucleon by using the new ansatz for t-dependence of up and down valence quark distribution function. In this work, we have studied in detail

Concurrent approaches to Generalized Parton Distribution modeling: the pion’s case

The concept of Generalized Parton Distributions promises an understanding of the generation of the charge, spin, and energy-momentum structure of hadrons by quarks and gluons. Forthcoming

Generalized parton distributions and deeply virtual Compton scattering

A method is presented which allows for the extraction of theoretical information out of a limited set of experimental data and observables, forming an under-constrained system in the domain of generalized parton distributions (GPDs).

Generalized Parton Distributions of Pions. Spin Structure of Hadrons

We present an extensive study on generalized parton distributions of pions. In particular, we present the results for the pion-photon transition distribution amplitudes in the Nambu - Jona-Lasinio

PROBING THE PARTON CONTENT OF THE NUCLEON

The parton content of the nucleon is explored within a meson-cloud model developed to derive light-cone wave functions for the physical nucleon. The model is here applied to study electromagnetic

Form factors and other measures of strangeness in the nucleon

We discuss the phenomenology of strange-quark dynamics in the nucleon, based on experimental and theoretical results for electroweak form factors and for parton densities. In particular, we construct

Nucleon Generalized Parton Distributions from Full Lattice QCD

We present a comprehensive study of the lowest moments of nucleon generalized parton distributions in N{sub f}=2+1 lattice QCD using domain-wall valence quarks and improved staggered sea quarks. Our

Chiral Analysis of the Generalized Form Factors of the Nucleon

We apply the methods of Chiral Perturbation Theory to the analysis of the first moments of the Generalized Parton Distributions in a Nucleon, usually known as generalized form factors. These

On'dual' parametrizations of generalized parton distributions

We propose a parametrization for the generalized parton distributions (GPDs) which is based on representation of parton distributions as an infinite series of t-channel exchanges. The entire

Nucleon electroweak form factors in a meson-cloud model

The meson-cloud model of the nucleon consisting of a system of three valence quarks surrounded by a meson cloud is applied to study the electroweak structure of the proton and neutron. The

What is Measured in Hard Exclusive Electroproduction

We examine the relation between amplitudes measured in exclusive lepto-production and the quark content of the nucleon. We show that in the limit of high energy and small t, the natural

Chiral Odd Generalized Parton Distributions in Impact Parameter Space

We investigate the chiral odd generalized parton distributions (GPDs) for the quantum fluctuations of an electron in QED. This provides a field theory inspired model of a relativistic spin-(1/2)
