We give an overview of the theory for generalized parton distributions. Topics covered are their general properties and physical interpretation, the possibility to explore the three-dimensional structure of hadrons at parton level, their potential to unravel the spin structure of the nucleon, their role in small-x physics, and efforts to model their dynamics. We review our understanding of the reactions where generalized parton distributions occur, to leading power accuracy and beyond, and… Expand
Concurrent approaches to Generalized Parton Distribution modeling: the pion’s case
The concept of Generalized Parton Distributions promises an understanding of the generation of the charge, spin, and energy-momentum structure of hadrons by quarks and gluons. ForthcomingExpand
▪ Abstract This review explains why generalized parton distributions and the related quantum phase-space distributions are useful in exploring the quark and gluon structure of the proton and neutron.Expand
Generalized Parton Distributions: Status and Perspectives
We summarize recent developments in understanding the concept of generalized parton distributions (GPDs), its relation to nucleon structure, and its application to high‐Q2 electroproductionExpand
Generalized parton distributions for dynamical equation models
Abstract We show how generalized parton distributions (GPDs) can be determined in the case where hadrons are described in terms of their partonic degrees of freedom through solutions of dynamicalExpand
Modelling the nucleon structure

Towards a global estimate for generalized parton distributions
In this thesis, we give an extensive review of the phenomenology of generalized parton distributions (GPDs) utilizing the perturbative framework. Starting from basic principles, we derive theExpand
The multidimensional nucleon structure
We discuss different kinds of parton distributions, which allow one to obtain a multidimensional picture of the internal structure of the nucleon. We use the concept of generalized transverseExpand
Unraveling hadron structure with generalized parton distributions
Abstract The generalized parton distributions, introduced nearly a decade ago, have emerged as a universal tool to describe hadrons in terms of quark and gluonic degrees of freedom. They combine theExpand
Topics in theory of generalized parton distributions
Several topics in the theory of generalized parton distributions (GPDs) are reviewed. First, we give a brief overview of the basics of the theory of generalized parton distributions and theirExpand
Chiral perturbation theory for generalized parton distributions and baryon distribution amplitudes
In this thesis we apply low-energy effective field theory to the first moments of generalized parton distributions and to baryon distribution amplitudes, which are both highly relevant for theExpand

Hard exclusive reactions and the structure of hadrons
Abstract We outline in detail the properties of generalized parton distributions (GPDs), which contain new information on the structure of hadrons and which enter the description of hard exclusiveExpand
Generalized Parton Distributions in Constituent Quark Models
Abstract:An approach is proposed to calculate Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs) in a Constituent Quark Model (CQM) scenario. These off-diagonal distributions are obtained from momentum spaceExpand

Abstract We discuss the bounds on polarized parton distributions which follow from their definition in terms of cross section asymmetries. We spell out how the bounds obtained in the naive partonExpand
Probing generalized parton distributions in πN→ℓ + ℓ - N
Abstract We study the exclusive reactions π − p →l + l − n and π + n →l + l − p in view of possible future experiments with high-intensity pion beams. For large invariant mass of the lepton pair l +Expand
Generalized parton distributions and strong forces inside nucleons and nuclei
Abstract We argue that generalized parton distributions (GPDs), accessible in hard exclusive processes, carry information about the spatial distribution of forces experienced by quarks and gluonsExpand
A non perturbative parton model of current interactions
A formulation of the parton picture of current interactions is given without recourse to perturbation theory. In deep inelastic electron scattering the structure functions W1 and νW2 scale but theExpand
Linking generalized parton distributions to constituent quark models

Quark Structure of Pseudoscalar Mesons
